Positive Response to Our Future
Talking about the future of the hospital is an important topic and as we have been doing presentations with staff and the community, the response to “Redefining the Future” has been extremely positive. Of course, part of that redefinition is about ensuring our hospitals continued excellence and sustainability in a time of intense system change. However, it is also about a long-overdue investment in rebuilding critical components of our bricks and mortar….emergency, mental health, surgical suites, ambulatory care and enhanced patient/staff/visitor circulation.
This is an exciting time for STEGH! We will be working hard to reposition our hospital in this changing environment. At the same time we are pursuing a major investment in our facility that will help give evidence to our community of our vitality and our long-term presence. I am always struck by the concern expressed that the hospital may be in jeopardy in some way, or in peril of closing up. I don’t believe that for a minute! So long as we remain alert to how the system is changing, and continue to look for opportunities to respond to these changes and to help make improvements happen, we will remain vital and relevant. That is what “Redefining our Future” is all about. We must and will assert ourselves.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve fielded some great questions and heard terrific insights in response to the information about our future. Thank you for your continued input and support and I’d be happy to hear from you anytime.
