Comprehensive Ambulatory Care

Changes to health care delivery means an increasing number of services are provided on an outpatient basis. This is particularly true for patients living with chronic diseases and illnesses. Ambulatory care allows STEGH to improve quality of life by reducing the need for hospital admittance and allow patients to be cared for in the comfort of their own home.

Currently STEGH provides ambulatory care in multiple locations within the hospital. The redevelopment project will utilize existing space and provide ambulatory care and services in one centralized location.

Benefits and features:

  • Services located in one area
  • Directly accessible from an exterior entrance
  • Optimizes existing space within the hospital
  • Improved infection prevention and control

Quick Facts:

  • STEGH receives approx. 21,000 scheduled ambulatory care visits per year
  • Ambulatory care refers to any medical care that is performed on an out-patient basis
